Hamish Mackie is an award-winning wildlife sculptor. Born in 1973, Hamish Mackie grew up on a livestock farm in Cornwall, England. He developed a love of wildlife at an early age. After Radley College, Falmouth School of Art and studying design at Kingston University, Hamish began sculpting full time in 1996, thus turning his passions into a career.
In 2007 Hamish built a studio in Oxfordshire, where he now lives and works. When looking at the work by Hamish Mackie, you realise that he is not only an artist of experience, but is also a great talent for capturing the form and characteristics of animal in its natural habitat. Mackie designs, sculpts and refines his wildlife editions in great detail then, using the lost wax technique, creates the most impressive of bronze sculpture.
